The 3 factors you need  (that never change) in achieving your Best Body:

  • Clean Eating
  • Consistent & Progressive Exercise
  • SLEEP

Clean Eating is NECESSARY when trying to get or stay lean.  There is no other way around it.  Think of your body as a machine, and while you can get calories from any type of food, whether it’s healthy or not, ALL CALORIES ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL.  Your body absorbs and utilizes certain foods and nutrients more efficiently than others.  In order to see changes, you have to make a (significant) change!

Consistent & Progressive Exercise is a major factor in building a solid foundation, not just for looks, but for your day to day activities.  As I always say, you MUST be consistent.  SO many of us go hard in the gym for 2 weeks, then fall off for a month.  NO BUENO! Put it in your schedule just as you would your meetings at work or a Doctor’s appointment that you have to PAY for.  Show up for YOURSELF.  You can show up to everything else on time, make sure you take care of the “vessel” that’s moving you from place to place.

Progressive exercise means that it must actually be something to push you out of your comfort zone. Do you know how many people I see in the gym DAILY, and 6 months pass, yet they’re physique has not changed? Just as you would do for anything else that isn’t effective with your current knowledge, you should enlist a professional.  Some people shy away from seeking a trainer, but sometimes “you gotta do what you gotta do.”  I understand if its not in your budget, but you have options.  If you can pay $50+ for the latest gadget, $100+ for an outfit or new sneakers, etc, you can make something happen with a trainer.  If you want the attention of a trainer, but truly can’t afford one on one, many places offer Small Group Training, where you have a Personal Trainer for the group, who can help you with form and effective workouts at a FRACTION of the cost of one-on-one training.  When you want something, you find a way to make it happen.  You can do it just like you did with everything else in your life, believe in yourself and treat yourself.  You can also attain knowledge about exercises and how to do so efficiently and effectively by reading reputable books and fitness magazines to get you started and get you on the right track.

SLEEP! My favorite of them all.  You must have enough rest to make changes to your physique and to maintain a healthy body.  While you’re sleeping, you are allowing your body to replenish its energy & strength stores.  Your body needs adequate rest to keep functioning properly and effectively throughout the day.  In addition, it is when you are sleeping that your body “heals” from whatever workouts and activities that you have done, so you need to allow it proper time to repair and replenish muscles, so that you will be 1 day stronger and 1 day more fit when you wake up.
