Free Weights and cardio machines can get monotonous,  and boring.

To keep the thrill in working out, we try new things…one of my favorite is Suspension Training. There are many different brands & styles, but it basically involves a contraption with 2 straps/bungee like cords from which you “suspend” part of your body from, using gravity and your strength to form resistance.

My experience with suspension training has been with the TRX.  We met a year or so ago… Can I tell you the last time I felt that sore was after my Kettlebell Intensive?!? I FELL IN LOVE! Intense, explosive workouts that get your heart racing, and then when you want a concentrated, slow burn to zap those deeper muscles, hit that chest, back and core work on there for a well-balanced workout.

TRX (Fitness Anywhere)  was founded by a former Navy Seal, and is popularly used by the Military,  Athletes, Personal Trainers, and Fitness Enthusiasts everywhere.  It can be used pretty much anywhere, and I can definitely give it credit for helping my Abs ‘Pop’ a little more, and that’s always a good thing!

Have you used any form of Suspension Training? How do you like it?  My favorite thing to work on with the TRX is back (Killer!) and Plyometric Leg work.  The ab work goes hard as well, but I must admit, it’s not my fave to do ( i love to hate it).

Here is an example of ADVANCED core training with the TRX (code for “DON’T try this at home… yet”….lol)
